This could be habit forming!

We were back at Lidcombe Bowling Club on Saturday night, and had a great time once again! The crowd was small, but vocal – and definitely made us feel appreciated! Pink Floyd made a reappearance and went down well – we may even try a different one next time if we’re feeling bold! There were a few changes to the set from last time too, and they all seemed to work – even a surprise visit from Queen with one of their rockier tracks. AND the new bistro was open – I can recommend the Szechuan Chicken – spicy and delicous!

Thanks again to sound and lighting man extraordinaire, Gavin, for setting us up and making us sound & look as good as possible!

Saturday Night at Lidcombe!

Hi all, we’ve just had another Saturday night at Lidcombe Bowling Club, and had a great time! Gavin was on hand again to do the sound for us, and yes, he did get the smoke machine out! That and the appreciative crowd made it a really fun night for us. We even tried out a bit of Pink Floyd to kick off the second set, and people seemed to like it, so stay tuned – it might happen again!

A huge thankyou to Gavin, and to the crowd for your support – it was a pleasure playing for you, and we’re looking forward to playing there again next chance we get!

Lidcombe Date change!!!

Just a quick note to let you know that the date has been changed for our June gig at Lidcombe Bowling Club. Its was going to be the 7th, but the Club has asked us to play on the 21st instead – apologies for any inconvenience!

So, hopefully we’ll see you on Saturday June 21!

Back at Lidcombe!

This is a little late – blame my computer gremlins! – but we were back at Lidcombe as promised on Saturday night Feb 1! It was good to be back too – not a huge crowd, but a few more of our friends were able to get along to join the Lidcombe regulars this time, and I think its fair to say a good time was had by all! We certainly had one!

Sound and lighting man Gavin had to come late due to other commitments, but when he did he really got things moving – adding not only some extra lighting, but this time introducing a smoke machine! I’ve never played with a smoke machine going before, and it was great! Really added some atmosphere and excitement to proceedings, and great fun too! What will he pull out next time?

Anyway, a big THANKS to everyone who came along and supported us, and to Gavin for his work and to the club for letting us play. If you missed out this time (or if you didn’t and want some more), we’re tentatively booked in for Saturday June 7 to play there again. As an added bonus I think the new Bistro may be up and running by then too – see you there?

Friday Night at Lidcombe!

Well, I just had to post about a gig we did on Friday night – it was another short notice one, so apologies if the word didn’t get to you in time. Anyway, Lidcombe Bowling club was the place to be – with a very supportive and friendly crowd! They made us feel welcome and appreciated, and it turns out that they like the occasional Angels song – our kind of people! We had a great time, and it seems they did too – they want us back in the new year!  Big thanks to Dave for getting the ball rolling (no bowling pun intended ðŸ˜‰), Greg for giving us the green light to play, and of course to Gavin, for setting up the PA and lighting, and doing the sound for us!  And thanks to the crowd for your support and compliments! Can’t wait til next time we play there!

My Free Lead!!

Just got a free guitar lead from D’Addario!!

Well, sorta kinda – they have what they call their Players Circle where you can enter codes from products you buy (like strings) and earn points. Once you have enough you can use them to “buy” products from their site. I’ve been buying their strings for years, plus some other bits and pieces, and my points had been adding up. So when a lead died on me last week, I checked the site and found I had enough to get new one at no cost to me! They even do free postage!

If you use D’Addario products you should definitely check the Players Circle out – and no, I’m in no way affiliated with them or sponsored by them (I wish!) – just a happy customer! 🙂

Stave’s Brewery – again! (Nov 04)

On Saturday November 4 we had another opportunity to play at Stave’s Brewery, once again supporting The Old Brown Boot Band – and what a night it was!  We found ourselves playing to a very receptive crowd who seemed to like what we did, which just makes it even better for us – fun is truly a contagious thing!  It’s great to see people enjoying themselves, and the applause they gave us made us feel pretty good too! So if you were there, thanks for making it a such a fun night!

Cheers,  Mark.

Stave’s Brewery

Hi All – Hope you enjoyed the gig at Stave’s Brewery on Saturday – we certainly did!  It was good to get out and gig again, and its even better when you get to see good friends in the crowd – so a huge thanks to everyone who came along to support us!  Those who are regulars will have noticed we had a different bass player for this one – Rohan had contractual obligations and couldn’t make it, but our friendly sound-man Shaggy agreed to help us out with the bottom end. He was playing drums with The Old Brown Boot Band after us anyway, so he was already going to be at the gig… Yes, not only a sound man, but a bass player and drummer as well (and a recording engineer) – how can one man have so much talent?

And how good were The Old Brown Boot Band? A bit different to us, playing some originals as well as some different covers – like ‘Everything is broken’, a Bob Dylan song I’d never heard before, but have googled after hearing their version. It’s definitely good to get out and hear what other bands are doing!

So, thanks again for supporting us – we really appreciate it!  And thanks to The Old Brown Boot Band for the spot on the bill.  Finally, thanks to Stave’s Brewery for supporting live music, and providing a place for people to play -keep it up guys, you’re doing a good thing!
