I was looking at photos on my phone and saw some shots from the 50th party gig we did in August – and realised I hadn’t update our site here – oops! It was a great success and a lot of fun! When we arrived to set up, Phil and Caroline had created a great ‘stage’ area on their deck – a huge black tarp from floor to ceiling covering the back fence created instant atmosphere. Then Phil presented the ‘Ozzy’ rider (from Wayne’s World) – 200 brown MnM’s in a brandy glass! Well, what could we say – In Denial would definitely be going on that night! But there was more – Phil also presented the famous Van Halen rider – a bowl full of MnM’s with the brown ones removed. This was a gig destined for greatness…
The crowd certainly seemed to enjoy what we did, with the exception of one neighbour (who apparently always complains) who made a bit of a fuss 3 songs in – but he was quickly placated when he was told what was going on (and he had been invited) and didn’t cause any trouble.
Just for something different we opened the 2nd set with Pink Floyd’s ‘Time’, which is a bit different for us, but it actually went down very well and may even become a regular feature! Of course our Angels songs were appreciated as always – they were just so popular in this country!
Caroline’s catering was excellent, and her team of waiters & waitresses did a great job. All in all I think Phil had a great party – we certainly did! Check out the ‘Have a Look’ pages for some photos…
